Militants flee after brief gunfight in Budgam village

Srinagar, Jan 15, KDC: An unknown number of militants managed to escape after a brief gunfight with security forces in Redbugh area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday.

Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that there was a brief encounter between militants and a joint team of police and army at around 10;30 hours today. They said there was a lull following which massive searches were launched. However, they said, there was no second contact established with militants nor any one was arrested, suggesting that the unknown number of militants fled from the spot.

Earlier, police said “Encounter has started at Redbugh, Magam area of Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow”. (KDC)
