Patients suffer as mammography machine defunct at SMHS Hospital
Machine would be repaired soon: MS
Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNO): Patients visiting Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar have been suffering as the vital mammography machine at the hospital is lying defunct.
Patients and attendants visiting the hospital from far off places said they are forced to visit private labs as the mammography machine has not been working for several weeks now.
The test not only affects people mentally but also burns holes in their pockets, said an attendant from Pulwama.
But all can afford to undergo tests at private clinics and they are pinning their hopes for early repair of the machine.
Medical Superintendent SMHS Hospital Dr Muzaffar Zargar told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the mammography machine would be repaired soon.
“The flight of the engineer got cancelled a day before and he is expected to arrive here today and the machine will be repaired soon,” he said.
Asked that there are reports that a CT scan machine is defunct in the hospital, he said two CT scan machines are functioning normally while one on standby has developed some snag which is being rectified—(KNO)
