Congress councillor in Jammu assaulted near residence, injured
Jammu, May 24: A councillor of the Jammu Municipal Corporation was injured after some miscreants Tuesday evening attacked him with sharp-edged weapons near his residence in the Sujatpur area of Domana, near Jammu.
The injured Congress councillor identified as Rachpal Bhardwaj was elected to the Jammu Municipal Corporation from Ward No. 72 of Jammu.
Bhardwaj was on an evening walk near his house when the assailants attacked him.
The police have registered a case and have begun an investigation.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Congress’s chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has condemned the attack and demanded stern action against the accused.–(The Indian Express)
