Under the operation “Drugs free kulgam”; kulgam police arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession

Kulgam police under the close supervision of SP Kulgam *Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS* is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
In this regard, yesterday at about *1810 hours* police party headed by IC PP *Mirbazar* established a checkpoint (Naka) at *Furrah* and during checking one person namely; *Arbaaz Ahmad Mir S/O Gulzar Ahmad Mir R/O Furrah* carrying a nylon bag and moving in suspicious condition was signalled to stop who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot. He was chased and apprehended tactfully. After checking, officers present were able to recover *04 KG Cannabis powder* like contraband substance from his possession.
Regarding this incident, a Case *FIR No. 92/2023 U/S 8/20* of NDPS Act stands registered in *Police Station Qazigund* and investigation has been set into motion.
