Kulgam, Jan 04 (KNO): Terrorists, who were trapped in an encounter with security forces last evening in Hadigam village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, may have escaped, official sources said on Thursday.

Sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that following an input about the presence of terrorists in Hadigam village a cordon and search operation was launched.

They said there was brief exchange of gunfire between terrorists and security forces and due to darkness the operation was suspended for night.

“The security forces resumed search operations in the area and expanded the cordon today morning, but there was no fresh contact established with the hiding terrorists,” they said.

Sources said that the terrorists may have taken the advantage of darkness and managed to escape from the spot—(KNO)
