Sarpanch arrested for alleged rape in Baramulla district
Baramulla, April 19: In a distressing event, the Jammu and Kashmir police have apprehended a Sarpanch from the Baramulla district in North Kashmir on charges of sexual assault against a woman.
According to sources, a young woman whose identity has been withheld was allegedly victimized by the Sarpanch, who operates under the jurisdiction of the Dangiwacha Rafiabad police station.
The report further states that the accused Sarpanch, identified as Ali Mohammad Dar of Rawoocha Rafiabad, was taken into custody after the victim’s relatives submitted a written application to the Sopore police.
A police official has confirmed the occurrence to the news agency and stated that a case has been registered under FIR no 26/ 2023, citing sections 376, 506, and 109 of the Indian Penal Code, at a local police station.
