Aamir: Biopic on Amir Hussain Lone, double-arm-amputee cricketer from Kashmir, announced

Srinagar, Jan 4: Popular Kashmiri cricketer Amir Hussain Lone is all set to have a biopic in his name. The 34-year-old is known to have inspired everyone by being a one of the first double-arm-amputee cricketers.

Titled Aamir, the biopic is being produced by Big Bat Films and will be directed by Mahesh V Bhatt.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handles and shared, “#Aamir – the extraordinary journey of #Kashmiri cricket sensation #AamirHussainLone – has been announced… The biopic chronicles #Aamir’s ascent beyond the cricket crease, encapsulating moments of triumph, grit and inspiration that resonate universally.”

When Vicky Kaushal said he would like to play Amir Hussain Lone in his biopic

In an episode of the a singing reality show, Vicky Kaushal, along with co-stars Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra made a special appearance for the promotions of their movie Sam Bahadur. The episode became even more remarkable due to a touching encounter between a contestant named Sneha and her fan, Amir Hussain Lone.

Amir Hussain Lone chose the song ‘Lakshya Toh Har Haal Mein Paana Hai’ for Sneha to perform. Before Sneha’s rendition, a video clip was also shown, highlighting the inspiring journey of Amir Hussain Lone. This clip deeply moved Vicky Kaushal, who has often been asked about his choice for a cricketer’s biopic.

Inspired by Amir’s story, Vicky revealed that he now has the perfect answer to that question – he would love to portray Amir’s life in a biopic.

Expressing his admiration for Amir Hussain Lone, Vicky shared, “I am happy that I got a chance to meet him today. And I have to say, the word Bahadur is not used for everyone, but this word is actually made for him, he is a true hero and I salute him, and his bravery. In fact, he solved the biggest problem of mine as these days during the interviews, many people ask me if I ever get a chance to do a biopic of an Indian Cricketer then who will it be, today I got my answer.
